The new LEGO City 60496 Pizza Delivery Experience with Vehicles takes a very familiar LEGO idea and makes it much more ambitious.
Instead of giving us only a pizza shop or a single delivery vehicle, this 494-piece set combines a restaurant, sports car, scooter and delivery drone in one complete city scene.
What makes the set interesting to me is that almost every part of it connects to the same story: make the pizza, prepare the order and decide how it reaches the customer.

The sports car is not exactly subtle.
Its flame graphics and built-in pizza launcher give the set a more playful tone than a realistic delivery scene.
I actually think that works here. LEGO City often mixes everyday situations with exaggerated action, and launching a pizza from the hood of a delivery car fits that philosophy perfectly.
It is silly, but it is the useful kind of silly because it immediately creates another game to play.

The scooter offers a believable city-delivery option, while the drone pushes the idea into a more futuristic direction.

5 Minifigures Give the Set Enough Characters

For me, the best feature is the way all the separate builds support one clear theme.
The restaurant prepares the food. The car, scooter and drone deliver it. The minifigures create customers and staff. Even the arcade machine gives the restaurant another reason for characters to stay there.
Nothing feels completely random.
I also like that the set offers both building and vehicle play. Children who lose interest in the restaurant can still race the car, use the scooter or fly the drone around their LEGO City.
Possible Downsides
The biggest potential weakness is that the set spreads its 494 pieces across several builds.
That means the restaurant itself is not going to be as large or detailed as a dedicated modular-style building.
If your priority is architecture and interior detail, a larger LEGO City restaurant could offer more satisfying construction.
The pizza launcher may also divide opinions. Younger builders will probably enjoy it, while collectors looking for realism may see it as unnecessary.
And although the drone delivery concept is fun, it is naturally more fantasy-like than the scooter or car.
Who Is LEGO City 60496 Best For?
I think this set is best suited to children who like mixing everyday city stories with vehicles and action features.
A child who only wants cars gets several vehicles. A child who prefers role-play gets a restaurant and five characters. Someone building a larger LEGO City gets another commercial location to add to the streets.
That versatility is probably the biggest reason to choose this set over a smaller pizza-themed model.
How Does It Compare With a Small Pizza Truck?
A small pizza truck is easier to build, cheaper and more portable. LEGO City 60496 offers something different.
Here, the pizza business has a permanent location, multiple employees and several delivery methods.
So if you only want a quick food-themed vehicle, this set may be more than you need. If you want a complete pizza business inside a LEGO City layout, 60496 makes much more sense.
Play Value vs Display Value
This is clearly a play-focused LEGO set.
The restaurant is colorful and the vehicles look fun together, but the main appeal comes from the functions and stories rather than from creating a sophisticated shelf display.
That is not a criticism. LEGO City sets work best when their parts can move around and interact with the rest of a collection.
Good Addition to an Existing LEGO City?
Yes, and this may be where the set has the most long-term value.
Restaurants are useful city buildings because they create natural destinations for almost any minifigure. The delivery vehicles can also travel to houses, police stations, hospitals, parks or other locations from completely different sets.
Unlike a very specific stunt or rescue scenario, a pizza business can keep appearing in everyday LEGO City stories again and again.

The restaurant measures approximately 16 cm high, 27 cm wide and 12 cm deep.
That makes it large enough to create a recognizable city location without dominating a LEGO City layout.
My Take on LEGO City 60496
Based on the official images and features, LEGO City 60496 looks like a strong all-round playset rather than a set built around one spectacular model.
Its biggest strength is variety. You get a restaurant, multiple vehicles, interactive features and enough minifigures to start playing immediately.
The trade-off is that no single part of the set is extremely complex.
For an adult collector, that may make it less exciting. For a child building a busy LEGO City, it could be exactly the right balance.
I especially like the fact that the story does not finish once the pizza leaves the restaurant. The car, scooter and drone let the action spread across the rest of a LEGO City collection.
